Josh Cormany

Retirement Counselor

Josh Cormany believes that a truly successful retirement plan is one that offers more than just numbers on a page—it offers the freedom to exhale. With nearly 30 years of experience as a private business owner and a professional in real estate finance, Josh has spent his career navigating complex markets and helping people make some of the most significant financial decisions of their lives. These decades in the industry taught him that while every client’s situation is unique, everyone shares a common desire: the confidence that their hard work will sustain their lifestyle for the long haul.

Now, at Five Pathways Financial, Josh translates his deep financial background into specialized guidance for retirees and pre-retirees. Licensed to offer insurance and trained in sophisticated income strategies, Josh focuses on the technical "how-to" of retirement—specifically how to turn accumulated savings into a reliable, tax-efficient paycheck. He is particularly passionate about the intersection of estate planning and income, believing that a plan isn't complete until it protects both the client’s current lifestyle and their family’s future legacy.

“I believe everyone who has a family and assets deserves a comprehensive plan that leads with peace of mind,” Josh says. “When I sit down with a client, we start by looking at the estate and the tax picture. By identifying income gaps and implementing strategies like Roth conversions, we can often reduce the tax burden for both the client and their heirs. My favorite part of this work is seeing the sense of relief that comes when a client sees their path forward clearly and feels truly prepared for the next chapter.”

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Josh moved to Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University, where he earned his degree in communications. That foundation in communication remains the heartbeat of his practice today; he prides himself on being a "translator" who makes complex financial concepts accessible and clear.

Josh is a devoted family man, married with two adult children, and is a committed supporter of the “Folds of Honor” charity, which provides scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled service members. Outside of the office, Josh is an avid scratch golfer who thrives on the precision and discipline the game requires. When he isn’t on the greens or designing income blueprints, he enjoys traveling with his family and exploring his lifelong passion for music.
