Retirement Counselor / Income & Pension SpecialistJon Floyd is an independent fiduciary, as well as a Founder of Prospect Estate Planning. He has spent the past three decades helping individuals and families build their financial confidence and make empowered decisions. In fact, his greatest passion is for spreading financial knowledge and literacy, using simple terms to help his clients understand complex concepts that can help them achieve their objectives.
With notable experience in the industry, Jon believes two keys to his clients’ success are his independence and his fiduciary duty. These factors, in addition to his emotional connection to his clients, let him fight at their side to find solutions in alignment with their goals. He also urges the importance of protection, believing too many people chase lucrative returns with trendy investments. “I’ve seen way too many people spread themselves thin and invest outside their means, all with the goal of getting rich quickly,” Jon says. “The fact is there’s no secret formula or magic button. It usually takes dedication, hard work and informed decision making to build and protect wealth.”
Jon first fell in love with finance at a young age. He studied markets, trends and the power of money, as well as how it can be used to help people. He went on to manage a hedge fund, become a partner at an estate planning firm, work on Wall Street and start an online brokerage. He is now focused on creating insured income solutions for his clients. While insurance is usually associated with the worst-case scenario, he believes these solutions can be powerful wealth builders and income creators, giving his clients the chance to live the retirement of their dreams. He also aims to uphold the three principles his company was founded upon: education, transparency and empowerment.
Originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Jon studied economics at the University of Arizona. He now resides in Scottsdale with Amy, the love of his life, and they have three children: two daughters and one son. In his free time, Jon is passionate about supporting his community and lending his time to organizations that fight for the underrepresented and under provided for. Some of his favorite nonprofits include Folds of Honor and Tutti Bambini. Additionally, Jon is a competitive tennis player who is quickly coming around to pickleball. He maintains his love for spreading financial tips and know-how by hosting The Trust Factor. You can listen to the show every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on KFYI 550am.
